Most precious thing

My mother, my angel- until we are united together again. I will miss her beyond measure and love her eternally. Her battle with MS was an inspiration to all.

Miracle

To say that I have been through the most traumatic time in my life this past week would be an understatement. I do not wish to relay the particulars at this time but will share with you all one thing....MIRACLES DO HAPPEN. I almost lost my Mom this past week. I flew home to be by her side her as it happened. Once there, she came from death's door and rallied yet once again to stay with us. Some say it was our strength as Mother and daughter that brought her back, some say it was her never-ending fighting spirit...oh theories abound. I choose to believe that God wasn't ready to take her yet and performed a miracle...as I watched and prayed. My strength has been renewed and my faith has been rekindled. There are times where I have questioned how a merciful God could allow my Mother, my precious one, my everything, to have such a horrible disease such as Multiple Sclerosis. What lessons are to be learned from it? Why her? I may never know the answers but know that I am thankful to still have her.

My friends and family have shown such support and love. THANK YOU ALL! I will never forget the people that have been here during this time. Just amazing and so moving. Man...I just can't say enough.

I will close with that. I will be back in Oklahoma by the end of the day and will be coming home every chance I get to make sure she is totally out of the woods. She and I talked this morning as I looked into those gorgeous blue eyes I talk about so often and she, as always, wants so much for me to be happy, fulfilled, and to soar throughout my life. She not only wants this, she insists upon it! So onward I go, knowing that she is with me both in life and in spirit with that unwaivering strength that makes us what we are...team mates, partners for life...Barbara Jo and Gina Leigh.

Will I ever learn?

I know my mama raised me right when I continuously have ultimate faith in other people that absolutely, positively DON'T DESERVE IT. Being optimistic, motivational, positive to a fault just doesn't bring them around. It's as if I put these type of people on my shoulders and hold them up when the entire time they are drilling me right into the ground. Some people have a soul, a heart, and a conscience...some don't. I have yet to discern how to differentiate these two types. People are good cons though ya know? Once you think you know them, WHAM! Those true colors are hard to suppress. It makes you feel like your judgment of others is way off and can be so hurtful. Ah hell...live and learn and don't make the same mistakes twice. I always learn the hard way and this time was no exception. So with that being said, I would like to say THANK YOU MOM for making me the person I am. I wouldn't change a thing about me for anything and I hope I make you proud.

So, I have some great plans for this upcoming week that I am really excited about. Nothing like diving head first into something that makes you feel great! I think I have been pushing things to the backburner due to the company I have kept and I have suffered greatly for it. Doing the things you love make each of us fulfilled and happy. I do these things because I am GREAT AT THEM, not because I am trying to make up for any shortcomings. How sad for those that do. Yep, I'm readyyyyyyy!

So, my boy Max...a.k.a."squeaks" (he squeaks when he yawns...and he yawns alot!) is growing like a weed! He is gonna be a big boy! Very smart and FIESTY. I like 'em fiesty! We have his vet appt. tomorrow to get his next series of shots and to discuss his ear cropping. I love the way a dobie looks as an adult. Can't wait to see him all grown up in a show winning stance-gives me chills!

So, Jill and I are settling into our new pad quite nicely. This place looks like it belongs in a magazine. She really has a knack for decorating! We took some pics when we first moved in before a night on the town, so I will share them with y'all. Also throwin' in more pics of Maximus. Get used to it...I am driving my friends crazy with all the phone pics of him! lol! Love my lil' guy!

A New Love of My Life

Well, after two years and much contemplation, I finally did it. I searched for and found the next love of my life. He is simply amazing--the joy he brings to me just cannot be described. My past love will always be my one and only, but this boy is amazing in his own right and means the world to me. I agonized over this but knew in my soul it was time. Part of me has been missing without this incredible connection and I am going to embrace the time I have with him for as long as we are together. Allow me to introduce MAXIMUS VON SKYLOCKE...I call him "Max".



To say I am walking on a cloud would be an understatement. In no way am I trying to replace my beloved Electra. There simply can be no replacement. She was in a league of her own and is the most precious gift I have ever had. Max and I have a lot of fun times ahead of us and great memories to make. What a sweetie!!!

Merry Christmas Y'all!!!

How is everyone doing? I am great, however the x-mas season is always such a mad time isn't it? Love looking at all the lights though. Some people get prettty darn creative--I love it! Anything different or unique and I'm all for it!

It's been pretty cold here in OKC. We had a pretty wicked ice storm early last week that left thousands of people without electricity. Can you imagine being that cold and no heat? The people with gas or fireplaces were very lucky. Amazing what frozen water can do.

Okay, enough of the small talk, here is what's going on in my world: I am moving AGAIN! lol! I started out in South Oklahoma City then moved to North Oklahoma City and will now be moving to MID Oklahoma City I guess! Actually, it is still pretty north. I will be rooming with a great friend of mine, Jill Smith who I am sure you have seen in some of my videos. She is a national level figure girl and in my view has the best figure physique to ever come out of Body Tech. She is amazing. She is also a blast to be around so I am sure we will be gettin' into a lot of mischief and craziness...which makes for some pretty cool videos so look out! lol! We plan on lots of cookouts and house parties so there will never be a dull moment. We also plan to buddy up on some workouts which is great. She has the same workout ethic I do so I won't constantly feel like I am having to drag her through them. Yay for us!

I have been a lot more diligent with my training lately and it shows. Workouts are coming along great and my pumps are ridiculous. Muscle memory always amazes me. I keep looking in the mirror thinking "that's a pretty good pump for someone who has been half-assing and skipping her workouts!" lol! I am excited to see what my physique does now that I am back on track.

Members: I missed the deadline to get my update to Andy before he and his lovely wife travelled to Germany to visit his family for the holidays. He will be back early January so we are in a holding pattern until then. Sorry!!! Here are some recent pics to hold ya over hopefully! Catchin' Up

Wowee! Long time y'all! Sorry for the delay. Just inundated with contest and holiday travelling among my normal hectic daily to-dos. So, let's get started here...

Red River report: Great show and I really enjoyed judging the high caliber athletes who competed! My friends and client Ashley did awesome! Ashley got 2nd in the figure short class which was incredible! My girl Vicki Swafford got 1st in her class and novice overall! And the cutie patutie Mike McCrary won the novice division as well. Great job you guys! I was exhausted by the end of it all but can't complain since I know what the competitors must have went through.

This past weekend was the 2007 NPC Nationals held in Dallas. I travelled there to support fbbing as well as to do my friend, Kristy Hawkin's hair and makeup. I have known Kristy for years now as we trained at the same gym in Houston...gosh back in 1999 I believe. I knew she was special then and she proved it this past weekend. She won the lt heavy class and the OVERALL!!! CONGRATULATIONS KRISTY!!! She is now a new IFBB Pro and I am sure she will do amazing whatever show she chooses to do in the pro ranks. She is THAT good. Super proud of you girl!

I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. I am down in Houston visiting my family and always have a hard time leaving. My family is small but very, very close. My Mom is my everything so it is hard as hell to leave her. She always pushes me to be happy and enjoy life so as long as I am happy in Oklahoma I will stay there. My visits will be more frequent now that I have my weekends open. Great, great time always!

Well...I have a big birthday this Tuesday (27th). I swear, it feels like someone has pushed the fast forward button since I turned 30! Won't be long and I will be 40! Yikes! lol! Honestly, I look forward to growing older. I become wiser and have more muscle maturity...hahaha! Seriously, my girls have something fun planned next weekend so I am sure you all will get to see the mayhem that comes of it afterwards. There is always a camera around when Gina is in full effect...look out!

Red River

This weekend is the NPC Red River Classic Bodybuilding show in Norman, OK. I have been honored to help a few of the contestants as they bring their package to the stage and would like to give them some props and lots of luck!

First of all is my long lost sister at heart Ms. Vicki Swafford. This woman defines determination and is bringing a crazy ass physique to the show. She will be taking all of the women's bbing trophies just like Ilknur did so this should be fun to watch. I simply think this lady hung the moon and couldn't be prouder of her! Her husband is the famous "Dr./Mr. Red River" Adam Swafford. Adam is a great friend and took the entire show last year and continues to save lives in the ER in Missouri. You two are phenomenal people and I cannot wait to share in your joy this Sat.! Muah!




Now my girl, Ashley Hurley...my, my, my...this lady has made terrific changes and has been my client from offseason to the stage and will put the stamp on how great a figure girl can look at her first show ever devoid of ANY shortcuts (if you know what I mean). Proud of you girl and hope that I helped you bring what your mind's eye had in mind this weekend. Go get 'em tiger!




Then there is the hottie patottie Mike McCary. This guy is just...hot...okay 'nuff said! Seriously, he will be making his mark in the OK bbing circuit with his performance this weekend. He has been guided by the one and only Lance Revas who is a veteran bber from OK. Excellent job Lance! Your guy is gonna ROCK! Glad I could help with the posing...the pleasure was allll mine! lol!


I am doing Vicki, Ashley, and the fitness doll Jazmin's hair/makeup and just love this part of the process! In addition to that, I will be a judge so my weekend will be nonstop from tomorrow on....wish me luck, but most of all to all of the competitors that busted their tail ends to bring it!

Member's Update: Hope y'all are liking the new content. I think a lot of people will enjoy the videos in particular. My best girlfriend, who just happens to be my favorite figure physique of all time, Jill Smith and I really put on a show for you all. Three videos of Jill doing bodybuilding, me doing figure, and Jill and I doing "powerlifting" which is really me carrying that girl around like a doll! We had a blast making them so I hope you enjoy them as much as we did! Fun!
