Tomorrow the "girls" and I are going to a winery to do some wine tasting and tour the facility. Carri, Shannon and I are really into getting out of the one-dimensional world of lifting weights, etc.. and doing "girly" things. When you train at Body Tech, you can start forgetting things outside of training and gym activities due to the hardcore intensity so we decided to make a concerted effort to do other things to strike a nice balance. Really looking forward to it!

Member's update: Since I have gotten back into my boxing training recently, I decided to share some clips and photos of what that looks like! Nothing quite like seeing a 195# female working over a heavy bag eh? lol! I am still a bit rusty on some things, but will get better quickly...that's how I am wired up. It is so much fun and I hope you enjoy it! Here is a pic of me mid-training--and yes, I am actually hitting the bag here!

What's up y'all??!! Man, the weather has gotten a bit chilly here and is a welcome change. I am typically a summer girl, but this temperature I can live with. I understand it is going to get a whole lot colder which is going to be miserable for me. I haven't had to buy a coat in years, but will certainly do so this winter! Been doing a lot of yard work and redecorating-turning out pretty good thus far. I crack myself up at times...just yesterday, I found this AMAZING vase and some goodies to go in it such as bamboo, grapevine, and decorative leaves that I put together with the intention of it going outside on the front porch. Once I was finished, there was no way it belonged out there, so inside it came! lol! The front flower bed looks terrific, complete with a neat little pond with an active waterfall. So pretty! Now, if I can keep all the plants alive through this winter I will be doing good!

In gym news, I am totally back on track. My right arm is measuring 17" again and my left is 16 1/2...still a half inch behind, but is GROWING so I am happy with that. I am going to start incorporating some extra concentration curls for the left arm ONLY at the end of my bicep workouts to encourage it to catch up a bit better. Visually, you cannot tell a difference, but I want them to be perfectly even before I pick my pro show--that's just how I work-I will not bring less than my best to the stage in '06.

I have been really getting back into hitting the heavy bag and working the speed bag every night which is a workout in itself! Carri has joined me a couple of times and was really eager to learn a bit about the art of boxing. That girl is hilarious!!! I told her to find her rhythm and the next thing you know, she is doing a little dance while hitting the bag! You had to be there, but trust me--it was freakin' funny as hell!!! LOL! That's Carri for ya! My low back and joints are getting a bit sore from firing my hips off when I work the heavy bag. The joint soreness comes from the impact on the bag...trust me...I take a lot of frustrations out on that heavy bag so I am really knocking the crap out of it. I was a bit worried about throwing my left hook due to my injury, but I just went for it and my arm was perfectly fine! yay! I am really, REALLY enjoying boxing again-such a great sport!

Members update: Next weekend is Halloween, and I will be going to two costume parties...you are going to love the pics/clips I come up with then! Thanks for your great emails--more fun stuff to come!!!

Have a great week everyone,

What a day, what a day!!! I am thrilled to report that Yaxeni Oriquen is our new Ms. Olympia!!! I could not be happier with this and have a renewed sense of enthusiasm for the sport. I won't go into a long diatribe about how I think this sport has run off into the ditch...suffice it to say that I see at least one wheel out and it's turning! Congrats Yax!

Went to Ms. Red River, Jill Smith's birthday party tonight and had a wonderful time! Lots of great friends and plenty of conversation, not to mention some great photos of Jill lying all around for us to peruse. She is a dynamo and I predict she will get her pro card in the very near future...

More later, it's late, but I just had to share my happiness with you all!

Wow, been pretty busy over here. We had the Red River Competition last weekend with Body Tech's athletes doing VERY well! Jill Smith won overall in the figure division, Shelley Silva won open lights, and Dr. Hale received 6th place in the masters men. I put my PROLOOKS magic on Jill and Shelley with both of them turning out beautifully! Congrats goes out to them!

We are really looking forward to the upcoming John Sherman Classic in Houston and Nationals in Atlanta. Body Tech has a female masters competitor named Regina Raine that is kicking butt and taking names right now. She is one tough lady and I look for her to sweep the womens division at the Sherman. Nationals will be showcasing H's work through Darrell Terrell and Elena Seiple. Both of these people are now being prepped by the man himself and look extraordinary! I can tell you this...I think Darrell and Elena didn't realize what a killer workout awaited them when they arrived here. It certainly separates the mice from men so to speak, but I think they are getting the hang of it. Best of luck to these folks as well!

Last night we had some of the OKC Crew gather together at our favorite sushi restaurant and CHOWED DOWN! Where else would you give a last minute call to people and have 8 of them all meet to visit and enjoy great food? Another testament to how things are here--unique and awesome!

Member's update: "Chains" gallery is up along with three video clips of my bicep training from yesterday. I made sure to get some front double bicep shots and left side chests for you to see the improvements that are happening with my left bicep. It is coming along VERY quickly, but you can still see it isn't quite the same size as the other one...YET. As far as the clips go...one of them is hilarious!! A blooper of sorts--check it out!
