Hi you guys!

What a surreal weekend we just had here in Oklahoma! Where do I start?? Thursday H had a new client, Regina Raine and her hubby Will come in from Dallas for "training camp". Regina will be competing in the master's and open women's division at the John Sherman later this year. Both of these people are top-notch and were a joy to be around.

Then, in rolls Andrea Cloward-Weston and her hubby Brian Weston for her "training camp" and a special squat seminar that we were hosting at Body Tech with the man himself, Brian leading the way. For those that do not know, Andrea won the heavies at the North Americans 2 years ago and just placed 3rd at this last N.A.'s as well. She is a premier fbber who is looking to snag that pro card at Nationals this year under Howard's guidance. Also, Brian is a pro powerlifter who is a 1,000+ pound squatter. He did a terrific job at the seminar and was able to hit an 855# squat for a single and then again for a double--and that was just a demonstration! I have never seen such intensity in my life--amazing! I helped Andrea with a few poses and I must say...she is a sight to behold. Some of the best hamstrings I have ever seen on a female bar none. Beyond all the physique talk, I find her to be just an amazing person. She and Brian are cut from a similar cloth as we are and are welcome back ANYTIME. I actually missed them right after we dropped them off at the airport. People like that come along very rarely in life and I would choose to "keep 'em" if I could! lol!

Right after Brian's outstanding display of strength, we had a local guy Kyle Cloyd pull some deadlifts that have to be seen to be believed. Let's just say...ELECTRICITY was in the air at Body Tech Saturday afternoon!

THEN walks in mister Total Package himself, Darrell Terrell for his training session with H. It was chest day and D.T. had one heck of a workout! Even for a man, Darrell has a beautiful body. His lines, muscle bellies, pretty skin, etc... just make him nice to look at. He will definitely bring
his personal best to Nationals this year as well.

Beyond that Carri and I finally knocked out our own training session with H...and it was BACK DAY! The member update includes pics of that afternooon...from us chatting with Andrea to Carri and I banging out some rack pulls.

And FINALLY, we took Andrea and Brian out to Bricktown Sat. night for some cool and refreshing beverages...her's being water and Brian's being...whatever he wanted! lol! What a killer freakin' time!

Oh yea, I almost forgot this freaky pic of me shrugging last week...triceps are stupid! lol!

Be sure and check out the new update...you will not be disappointed! What an INCREDIBLE weekend!!!

I warned you all about the new update....NO MAKEUP, HAIR IS A MESS, and I AM A BIG MO-FO! lol!!! I was just going over the pics/clips once they had been uploaded to my site-whew! You wanted me in my "natural off season state" and boy you got it!

In other news, Hurricane Rita is bearing down on the Gulf Coast and my family is evacuating as we speak. Scares the daylights out of me...especially since the Katrina devastation. I have to believe that things will be okay. Prayers help.

More later...

Had a great time at the Europa and was thrilled that Bonny Priest won the overall. She gets to grace the Olympia stage once again this year and I will certainly be rooting her on!

It was a very exciting day working with Vicki Nixon. She was an absolute doll and I am happy to say her hair/makeup turned out PERFECT! I am posting pics of her before/afters so you can see PROLOOKS in action. Hopefully this new business of mine will continue to do well and I can help the ladies look their best on stage. I certainly enjoy it!!!

Member's news: I sent Andy my new update today, so look for it by Tuesday! These pics/clips will be of me in the BIGGEST OFFSEASON SHAPE EVER! Combine that with a swimming pool and you have one heck of a great update. It was kind of funny...one minute I am floating along catching some rays, the next thing you know, I am shooting an impromptu update for you all! No makeup, hair was a mess and I am just going for it...so you get to see G "au naturale". I am still in the high 190's, but plan to lean up a bit to attend Nationals in November. I hope to supply my members with the big offseason material that everyone keeps requesting for now at least. Please let me know what you think and what other things you would like to see in future updates.

Goodnight all-have a great week!

Hi y'all! I am doing great in my world. Workouts are terrific and my arm is steadily getting back to where it was pre-injury. Diet and cardio are pretty good, but I am still hanging around 195#. It is weird...like no matter what I do unless it is full on contest dieting/prep, my body just likes being in the 190's. I guess my internal set point is set a bit higher than others? I would like to get down to the 180-185# range and stay there so that when I start my prep, I won't be so far away from my contest wt. It is torturous enough to go through a Body Tech workout without having to do tons of cardio on limited carbs to get the fat off too! Speaking of Body Tech workouts...H is working with Elena Seiple, Andrea Cloward, and Darrell Terrell for nationals this year. Suffice it to say that those three people will bring the shape of their lives this November!

In other news, I have decided to start my own business helping ladies with their hair/makeup and posing tips for competitions. I asked my friend Carri Ledford-Baldwin to join me in this venture and bring her expert tanning and suit placing ability to the table as well! We are calling it "PROLOOKS" and I already have my first hair/makeup only client at the Europa this weekend. I have helped soooo many friends and family members at events and competitions in the past, and have always had terrific feedback on how I made them look. I really enjoy this and hope to make the person I work with SHINE on that stage.

The OKC Crew will be headin' to Dallas this Friday to attend the Europa Super Show. I am so excited to see my first pro show in person! Best wishes go out to fellow Okies, Kim Perez and Kendra Elias. Most of all, I want to wish the best to my buddy Bonny Priest. She won this show last year and has what it takes to get it done once again! GO BONNY!!! If anybody is attendance and see my big self walking around, do not hesitate to stop me and say HELLO! This should be a fun weekend!

Oh yea! You all go pick up the newest issue of FLEX magazine (october). Yours truly is in the "Gym Bag" section again...surrounded by big ol' boys once again! Very cool! Hey...any marketing of fbbers is a welcome one.

Have a great week everyone,
G

Congratulations go out to the newest IFBB Pro, Miss Kim Perez, from where else??? OKLAHOMA that's where! lol! Yes, it seems they put something in the water here in good ol' Oklahoma. Kim won the heavyweight class and the overall at the North Americans this weekend. I am sure she is so excited and happy right now--way to go Kim!

In training news, I have been officially shut down on my leg training. Well, not completely shut down...but calmed down. I will no longer lift heavy on leg day and will keep a nice, moderate weight as I train from now on. As my upper body grows back to where it was (by the minute!) I have to pull the reigns in on my lower body training. This does not include CALF training. Apparently what H isn't killing me with on legs anymore, he is making up for in the calf dept. I am telling you, I thought my calves were torn last week! lol! I couldn't dorsiflex to save my life...SO SORE my goodness! All better now only to get abused again this week. Upper body is making a huge comeback and fast! I am thrilled with how things are getting back in line so quickly. Yay ME! lol! Bicep report: Right side=16 1/2 inches Left side=16 inches! WOOHOO!!! I have them within a half of an inch already! When I started back after my injury, there was an inch difference, so this is great news.

I was doing so well on my diet during the week and hitting the cardio every morning...then I went to see my family a week and a half ago and threw my momentum off into the ditch! lol! I ate bad, didn't train, and didn't do any cardio for 5 days and once I got back, I wasn't too motivated to get back to eating clean and doing my cardio...so going on almost two weeks of being really, really bad! lol! The good news is that when I turn it around this week, I see changes quickly--just got to get back into the groove.

You know, I have been asked how I handle being a bigger girl in the offseason in terms of how people may percieve me or maybe even scoff at me for not keeping a leaner physique...um...well, simply put--I like to LIVE in the offseason! That includes dining with friends, not adhering to TOO strict a schedule and not watching the clock 24/7 to make sure I am as structured as I can be at that point. Leading an epicurean lifestyle makes me happy and if I were to adhere to dieting year 'round, I would be so irritable and cranky. I am also a very self-confident and self-assured person. I know when the time comes that I need to shape up for an event or get ready for a show, I can change my physique dramatically and be where I want to be. Honestly, if it really affected me negatively to get near the 200# mark in the offseason, I would certainly change it. In the mean time, I am living life and ENJOYING every second that I can and whatever that brings!

Member's section update: This is the LAST of the content for the Archives Series. I have brought you all to the finals of Nationals 2004 and I hope you have enjoyed watching my transformation from year to year. It was fun going down memory lane wasn't it? I mean, my gosh...that video clip from my first show in 1999 getting my routine down was hilarious wasn't it? How about the walk on the beach in South Beach, Miami in 2003? So cool to see all of that! Here is a cool pic from this last update at 2004 Nationals (finals). Anyone wonder why I have to now chill on the leg workouts--take a look at this pic and you will see why! lol!

Goodnight all,
G
