CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA DUNBAR-OUR NEWEST IFBB PRO FEMALE BODYBUILDER!!!

I have just returned from Vegas and have a ton of emails from people wanting to know my stance on how the show went. I will be voicing my opinion here in my journal as well as Gina's Thoughts in the member's section soon--just want to hit the rack right now. LONG trip and my eyes are trying to close as I type. Just wanted to give a big congrats to Amanda really quickly tonight.

More later!

Yes sir...Vegas, here I come!!! The OKC Crew leaves tomorrow and plans to hit Vegas like a bullet! lol! Since we don't have anyone from Body Tech in the show this time H is REALLY going to enjoy this trip. We are all going to give our support to ones we know in the show and to HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! I say we don't have anyone in the show, but H and Brandon have been helping Elena with her training as she dials it all in. In no way will Body Tech take the credit if Miss Elena kicks butt out there...she and her crew there in Jersey are responsible for that...we just facilitated some crazy workouts for her to help her fine tune. She is such a class act! Just yesterday, some very pretty flowers were delivered to the gym and after reading the card...they were from Elena! What a nice thing to do!!! Okay, I have posted a BIG clue as to who I think will become the next pro in GINA'S THOUGHTS in my member's section. Let's see if my prediction comes true!
GOOD LUCK LADIES!!!
See you all soon,
G

I wanted to call your attention to the newest item in my store: My TEAM GINA DAVIS t-shirts!!! Take a look and grab ya one or two...very cool shirts and they have been very popular since Nationals. I finally had them placed in my store, so get yours while I still have this batch in stock. Thanks so much!!!

I also wanted to tell you all that I am having some kick ass workouts lately! Nothing like the feeling of freedom when it comes to the exercises you can perform. I just look at the machines and weights with a renewed fervor and ATTACK 'em! lol! H is keeping me in line in terms of the amount I lift, but pretty much lets me do what I have been wanting to do for the last 14 weeks.

I took some pics today during my ARM workout and will be putting them in my Road to Recovery section. This will be my last gallery and that section will be closed. It will still be available to view, but I won't be adding any more pics or videos to that section. I am RECOVERED so no need. Here is one of the pics that will be in that section...you can see my left arm is waaay behind my right arm, but it's getting better everyday. Onward and upward!!!

So far so good on the upper body workouts. I am back in the trenches, just not using full force yet. It feels GOOOOOOOD!!!! Missed this immensely. Thanks for all the great emails...and I am being good, no worries! lol!

Yesterday, Carri Ledford-Baldwin, Shannon Young and I all had a "girls luncheon" and really enjoyed ourselves. How cool is it to have the girls that took the Overall honors at 3 of the last big shows gathered together eating chips and salsa and discussing life as we know it? LOL! We really enjoy eachother and have a great sense of comraderie that is unparalleled in this sport. I wish the other gals that I adore in the industry lived closer so that they could partake of this fun as well. Can you imagine us three hangin' out with Bonny Priest, Elena Seiple-Perticari, Amanda Dunbar, Jody May, Colette Nelson, etc..? WHAT FUN THAT WOULD BE!

Bonny emailed me last week and said she is competing in the Europa in September. I am so excited for her and wish her lots of luck...the girl is phenomenal and will dominate once again. I am sorry I will not be able to join her on stage this time around, but I am sure that will become a reality in the future. We will probably be cutting up backstage and high fiving each other on stage no matter who places where...that's the kind of girls we are.

Off to train calves..

YAAAAYYYYY!!! I have been officially released to resume training today. Saw my surgeon and he said "all systems go" on the bicep. I am so happy!!! I have not had a complete upper body workout in 14 weeks, so this is indeed, a special day. SOOO EXCITED!!! Thanks to all of you who have stuck by me during this time and for all of the encouraging emails. You all mean more to me than you will ever know. I plan to work very hard to be even better than I was before my injury and plan to take each of you on this journey with me. You ain't seen nothin' yet baby!!! SHE'S BAAAAAAACK!!!!

Year 2002...ah, that is the year that things really got rolling for me. I had a long road ahead of me still, but this year really shows the foundation I had to go with. I had my first photo shoots, first videos, and the first time to step on the nationals stage. Before I did that, I decided to do the John Sherman Classic and walked away with the women's heavyweight trophy with Nationals being on the following weekend. I didn't really try to peak or dry out at all for the JS show because I didn't want to jeopardize peaking for Nationals the following week. Whatever...still didn't come in right...live and learn! lol! The Sherman Classic was a GREAT show for me with it being in Houston with all of my friends and family there. They ROCKED the house, literally! I couldn't hear my music, they were so loud!! Also, my cousin Brian got ahold of some really cool video equipment and worked up an awesome video of me onstage, complete with music dubbing and neat special effects. You will see that as well as the original footage of me posing to my song(couldn't hear a thing!) when you check out this year's material. You will also see my very first photo shoot. Thank you to my members--so glad to hear that you all are liking the Archives Series. It is so much fun to do this and I am glad you are enjoying it!

Okay, right when my left arm is all healed up and doing fine, I discover a horrible poison ivy rash on my right arm! It is really bad people! It showed up two days ago and started blistering up and itching like MAD! Appears Big H got ahold of some ivy during his mountain biking trip last week and unknowingly transferred it to me. At any rate, we are a mess and finally went to the doctor today to get some corticosteroid shots and was prescribed some medicated cream and given sample allegra. I noticed an immediate change and feel a lot better tonight. The rash is still ugly, but getting better thank goodness.

I am cleaning things up for the USA...don't want to look TOO injured and fat, so I started eating clean a week ago, training hard, and hitting the cardio in the a.m. Funny the memory your body has...lost 4 pounds in 4 days and looking a bit better thankfully. I know the initial loss is water, but it is reassuring to see my body doing as I need it to.

Gonna have some fun in Vegas this time around. Only things on the "to do" list are to stop in and help Elena Seiple-Perticari with some last minute posing tips and then slide on down to Amanda Dunbar's room to talk makeup and see how she is looking. Both of these girls are better than ever and I am proud to be there for them if they need me. Whew! What a show this is going to be--I am all excited thinking about it already!!!

Goodnight all,
G

As you all can see, I am up to the year 2000 in the Archives Series. This is all so neat to be reviewing the pics and videos from my past. I hope my members are enjoying them as well!

I also threw in some recent pics of me VERY offseason and VERY post-injury! lol! If you look closely in the pics you can see the scar in the bend of my left elbow where I had the reattachment surgery. I am feeling terrific and am ready to hit it hard again in the gym. Been getting some upper body work in without any back or bicep exercises. Pulling movements would be a big no-no right now...well until the 15th of this month, that is. I will be 3 mos. post-op and should have FULL use by that time.

In other news, I went to see "War of the Worlds" a couple of nights ago...WOW, WOW, WOW!!! What a great movie! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. For those that haven't seen it...it is a must see...so get to it!

Having dinner with my good friend Carri Ledford-Baldwin and her hubby Bren tonight. They are such a sweet couple and are always so much fun to be around.

Okay folks...next week will be on to the year 2002. I skipped competitions in 2001 for various reasons, so no material from that year.

Hope you enjoy!
