What a cool week I just had! I actually played farmer G and helped out H's family with some hay bailin' down on the farm! lol! I could only use one arm, but did a decent job I think. I got a nice blister on my finger from the hay hook, but all in all had a great time! For those that do not know, I was raised in central Texas--farm country. So none of this was new to me. I was always the city girl in the country, but I could "throw down" when I needed to. I can two-step, bail hay, drive any rig you give me, and have even delivered a goat or two back in the day! lol! I enjoyed the country scene, but rebelled a bit as I raced through town in a bright red camaro while in high school. Memories!!!
Speaking of memories, my members will notice that I have started the ARCHIVES SERIES where I went back to my very first show in 1999. I have some pics along with 4 videos captured from that era which are SO cool to watch. One of them is of me at my choreographer's studio learning my first routine and the others are from the show itself where I won my first overall trophy! I will be going from year to year until I reach 2005. I am having a ball with this section...nothing like looking back on the amazing progress you have made eh? I hope you all are enjoying it and for those wanting to see how G has evolved...come on board and take the journey with us!
Had a terrific time at the Young's annual pool party Sunday. Everyone was riding on a high after Shannon's big win. Such a great group of people...the comraderie is second to none here. I have received some emails concerning the gals that were less than friendly backstage and I want to say that they will remain nameless. Shannon asked me to just "let it go" so I will do so. Honestly, they were "no-names" in the industry anyway, so why should I give them any publicity?
The USA's are coming up quickly! I am very excited for the ladies that I know competing in the show. Amanda Dunbar is looking better than I have EVER seen her. She is working with Robin Parker and is really sticking to her guns and staying strict on her diet, etc... Elena Seiple-Perticari is just something else! She will be incorporating the Body Tech training principles for the duration of her prep and I think that will be a big factor in helping her present her best package to date. I haven't seen or heard much from Sherry Smith, but know that her plan is to come in hard as nails! She was very, very lean at the Oklahoma show a few weeks ago. Heather Policky is the girl I always say "has a pro card waiting on her if she dials it in right." Well, I have seen some pics of her from not too long ago and that girl seems to be getting it right this time. Haven't heard too much about Isabelle Turell but she will be a threat if she gets her ducks in a row as well. Debbie Bramwell is nothing short of amazing too. I talked with her after Nats last year and told her that, in my opinion, her ideal shape would be as a middleweight, not a light-heavy. Her physique just flows better as a middle I think. She is a pleasure to watch onstage-very good poser! Miss Star Blaylock is a knockout and should be a light-heavy I think. Just a great, exciting show coming up!! Best of luck to all the ladies!
Okay, gonna try the sleep thing...enjoy the pics,
G
