I am officially 6 weeks post-op today...or in other words I am halfway through my recovery time! YAY! I feel really good and my workouts are terrific. I haven't touched upper body at all in the gym, but I sure have been hitting lower body and abs a lot. I just posted 6 new video clips of me training legs on Friday including some "donkey calf raises" where I used my good buddy Brandon as my "weight" so to speak. You will see that I like to have some fun in between sets and Brandon got more than he bargained for when he decided to help me out. I also included one of me talking about the state of my world and future plans. Cool stuff-check it out!

In other news, one of my clients has decided to be a figure competitor in the upcoming Red River contest and I am in charge of her prep. This should be a lot of fun! Her name is Shawn and she is a GO-GETTER in the gym. Just the ideal training client. I predict she will do very well at the show, even though it is her first time to compete.

The Oklahoma State Championship is in two weeks and Body Tech will be representing there as usual with some of the best physiques in the state. Bren Baldwin (fellow pro bber Carri Ledford's hubby) will be competing as a light-heavy and Dustin Noel will be a middle we think. Miss Stephanie Knowles will be rockin' the figure division and Shannon Young will be the only female bber we have and will also be going on to juniors a week later. Best of luck to all of these talented people!!

Okay, another muddy Kowe incident...below you will find a pic of her today right before I was leaving for the gym. The second pic is of my number one, love of my life "Electra", then H's baby girl "Maddie" and lastly a pic of Electra letting Maddie know who's boss! lol! (no one got hurt--that is they way she PLAYS if you can believe that!) Gotta love dobermans-I sure do!

Everyone enjoy Memorial weekend-STAY SAFE!

Speaking of Kowe...she pulled a good one yesterday. She is always at the gym with me either sleeping on my gym bag or in her little "house". I was busy and thought she was sleeping...not so. She had slipped out of the front door of the gym as the wind held it open. We didn't find this out until a while later and completely freaked out! I ran next door while the rest of our friends started a mad puppy hunt in and outside. Thank goodness the place I went to was a tanning salon and they saw one of their customers holding a "white puppy" and asking people whose it was. Apparently, she gave up and took her home with her. An immediate phone call was made and Kowe is back where she belongs...THANK GOODNESS!

So, the doc said I could ditch the sling and start some range of motion exercises, but nothing TOO strenuous. In two weeks I can start some LIGHT lifting and two weeks after that I see him again for another checkup. I plan to pass with flying colors and get ahead of the rehab curve of 3 mos and have things in working order by a little over 2 mos. We will see how I do!

As you can see, there has been an addition to my site: ROAD TO RECOVERY. I am so excited about this section because it will show not only the still photos of my progress but the actual videos of me accomplishing goal after goal. There are already video clips waiting to be viewed, so step inside and take a look. For those that are curious about the graphic image of the Road To Recovery: I took a warrior girl and a phoenix bird (symbolically known as "rising from the ashes to become even better") and had Andy combine them to see the image you see. VERY well done and means a lot to me.

Thanks again for all the well wishes. This girl is just gettin' started and plans to be BETTER THAN EVER!

Hi everyone! Still alive and kicking over here. I see the ortho doc this Wed. to see how things are doing with the ol' arm. It feels really good...almost too good, so I have to make sure and baby it like I am supposed to. It has been 4 weeks since the surgery and 6 total weeks since the injury itself (had to wait 2 weeks for surgery). I was happy to get back to training LOWER BODY last week and am sore as hell! lol! I have been hitting the cardio too, so I can lose some of this bodyfat that accumulated while I was "sitting out" from my injury.

Member update: The last two clips and the ones I will be posting tomorrow show me as I am right now and how I am keeping my spirits up as I get better with each day. You will notice that there will be a new gallery added called "ROAD TO RECOVERY" that will include both recent pics AND video clips. I am also adding new clips to the main member's section that I will be taking from past contests and videos I have done. I am using my fancy new camcorder to put these together for you. Also, you will see a change with the ROAD TO VICTORY section with the main button transitioning from 16 week out pic to me on stage winning. Very cool-thanks Andy! Suffice it to say that there are some really cool things coming for my members.

Ahhhh! It feels good to be somewhat back! Touching those weights and feeling my muscles contract is an old familiar feeling. I will never abandon my passion for the gym. We all have to have some downtime, and I am glad that mine is on it's way out!

Here is a pic of my widdle baby "Kowe" right after she found a nice mud hole to dig in!

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Stitches are removed and I have been advised to not use my arm except to brush my teeth and necessary things such as that. Have to keep it in a sling in public and absolutely NO contracting of the bicep. Will go back in two weeks and see from there. All in all, it was a nice visit and he says I am right on track...just do not "test his repair!"

My new camcorder is amazing! I am having trouble formatting the clips to properly transfer to the computer. I will re-read the instructions and hopefully get this thing rolling--bear with me!

I go see the doctor on Tuesday to get my stitches out and start my rehab. I am really looking forward to this so I can get that much closer to where I was before this happened. I unwrapped the bandage yesterday and am quite pleased with how minimal the scar is and the location(horizontal incision in the elbow crease). My arm looks to have not shrunk too much. (thanks Mom and those killer genetics!) I will give you all an update Tuesday after my appt.

All of your emails of support have been overwhelming--thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have "spilled my guts" a bit in Gina's Thoughts in the members section...just KEEPING IT REAL!

I just bought a new camcorder to increase the quality of my clips, so if the cost of such a thing is equatable to the quality...they are going to be top notch! Between Gina's Thoughts and the new clips my site has just kicked things up a bit around here! Welcome to my new members...more great things to come!
