Well, where do I start? As you have noticed, it has been a while since my last entry. The good news is that I am alive and well...the bad news is that I tore my left biceps tendon last Friday while training arms. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, just some one-armed preacher curls and all of a sudden "snap!" I have had chronic pain in my left elbow region for quite a while now, and have always chalked it up to "tendonitis"...um...not so apparently. I immediately went to the ER and then a subsequent Orthopaedic appt. I have since then had surgery to reattach the tendon to the bone and am recovering nicely. I can tell you that the pain involved in this experience has been nothing short of breathtaking! I cannot stand taking pain pills, but have had to succumb to it to relieve some of the sharpness. Total recovery is looking like around 3 mos. ( I plan to beat that of course--intelligent rehab and the natural propensity to heal quickly sets me ahead of the curve)
I thought at length about how to approach this on my site and how to still provide great content for my members and have it all figured out! lol! Bear in mind, that I still have 3/4 of my body that I can still train during this time and plan to do just that. I will also be throwing in some really cool videos documenting not only the progression of the non-injured parts, but the rapid recovery of my arm. I have soooo much to do and share with you all, that I have decided to have a "Road To Recovery" gallery much like my "Road To Victory". I am also starting a more in-depth journal in the member's section as well. You think I tell it like it is here...just wait for that to begin!
I would also like to announce that I have plenty of time to rehab this arm and have my pro debut be early next year, just as planned. The only rescheduling that I have done has been my guest posing appearance at the Texas State Championships. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am to have to cancel that!
I am very interested in hearing from all of you who have had to undergo rehab such as mine, so please do not hesitate to email me and tell me all about it...tips, etc.. would be greatly appreciated.
With all that being said, I want to let you all know that I am still IN ACTION, and have a warrior's mentality that will have me on the mend in no time!
Love,
G
