So today is New Year's Eve. A time to reflect on the 2003 and figure out what you did right and what you did wrong, learn from it and be better next year. My life is going to change dramatically in '04-that is a given. The wheels are in motion as I type. I am thankful for the people I have met this year they have given me much joy and happiness. More than anything the people in my world have given me inspiration...they have inspired me to reach for the stars and never look back. There have been a few to try and knock me down a few notches, which I find humorous. There is a quote that I like and actually have it taped up on my training board: "People aren't always really happy for your successes. If you let them control you with jealousy, they will define you in a way that is convenient and nonthreatening for them". That speaks VOLUMES to me. I have always walked to the beat of a different drum, and I don't foresee changing anytime soon. I want to say that I cherish the relationships I have developed this year and look forward to the new ones that are occurring everyday. Happy New Year to all of you! "G"

Having KILLER workouts in the gym lately. Must be all the calories I am consuming! lol! Kevin trains like a madman and since I am his partner...I get thrown into the madness! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it. It is the reason that I gained 10 pounds of muscle in a year. It is just not for the faint of heart. I have always trained hardcore and will continue to do so in the future. One thing that was nice to see tonight was quite a few superior physiques walking around our gym. It is good to get that visual motivation from time to time. It gets tiring being the only bodybuilders in the gym. I like hearing those grunts and weights clanging around (by the people actually using them properly) and seeing those muscles work hard and get pumped to high heaven. I love it!
All in all it was a good day...enjoyed it immensely. "G"

Went to see the latest Lord of the Rings tonight-VERY good show. I do have a gripe though...WHAT IS UP WITH THESE PEOPLE BRINGING THEIR INFANTS TO THE THEATER for a 3 1/2 hour long movie???? I know, age old complaint, but DAMN! Are they oblivious to the people around them while their child is having a fit because the theater is dark and LOUD?! Okay, so then the Dad takes it out...only to the stairway so he can still watch the movie...guess what Einstein---YOU ARE STILL IN THE THEATER and we can still hear you! I think that someone should create a nursery for the movies. We all would be very grateful! Okay, gotta get to sleep (if I can). Lots to do tomorrow. "G"

Just got in from a night of dancin'. Had a nice time although the dj kept playing House music...I cannot stand house music! But as luck would have it...or at my request...he played a little old school Prince to appease the muscle chick in the corner! lol! This occurred right around midnight... had to go "shake my tailfeather" on the dance floor on that one. I didn't like how smoky it was, but what do you expect when you go clubbin'? Kevin had the entire place staring at him as usual. The guy can JAM! I find myself literally stopped sometimes on the dancefloor staring at some of the things he comes up with. He amazes me. All in all it was a good time--glad we went. Now I need some shut eye...have to drive my Dad to the airport tomorrow--back to work he goes--in a land far, far away! "G"

Christmas Eve...that is when my family celebrates Christmas due to scheduling difficulties. It was nice to see everyone tonight and watch the kiddos open their gifts. My niece got a Leap Frog Leap Pad--not sure what she will do with it seeing as she is absolutely BRILLIANT already. She brings much joy to my life--so beautiful, so smart, so sassy!!! I adore her truly. My sister is always saying that I have a child without going through the pregnancy and pain of delivery! lol! I have grown increasingly more resistant to sleep lately. As if I need that...I am an incurable insomniac already. What gives with this condition? I would love to feel sleepy at 11:00am--RIIIGHT! I can't remember the last time I fell asleep at that time. Even with early morning cardios while I was prepping for Nationals...bed by 2:00am...on a good night! Well I will try it one more time tonight--wish me luck! "G"

I am finally finished with the xmas shopping. I can tell you one thing...I have enough trouble making it through a mall without being harassed about my "look" without having the xmas crowd intensifying the experience. Most of it is positive, but I will get the occasional insecure person that will look at me like I am an alien. I love being unique, but when I am in a mood--look out! Poor people don't know what hit 'em! lol! A friend of mine asked me today what I will be doing for New Year's Eve. In the past, I have really looked forward to that night of fun and craziness, but this year I just feel like chillin' out a bit. (am I getting old or what?!) I think some of it may be to my increasing intolerance to alcohol. These days, my threshold is MUCH lower than it used to be so that doesn't make for a good New Year's Eve party when alcohol is involved. There is one thing I am really looking forward to when it comes to the new year and that is my offseason phase beginning on the 1st. I have had my fun since Nationals, but by that time I will have it out of my system and will be ready to put my gameface on once again. I AM READY! "G"

Just got in from my Kev's company xmas party. It was a nice affair--lots of great upbeat people--it was nice to meet them all. It never ceases to amaze me how nonbodybuilding people are so fascinated with me and this sport. They all congratulated me on my showing at Nats this year and were very inquisitive about how I do what I do. There will be a conversation about open heart surgery going on and I walk up and it instantly turns to "how did you get like that??...can I get like you??...etc, etc.. LOL! I love it! The funny thing is that sometimes I would rather discuss the open heart surgery! (anatomy is my thing) It was a great night and tomorrow will be filled with even more shopping for xmas...chronic procrastinator I am in that dept. Wish me luck out there braving it among the madness! "G"

The weather here is nice and chilly, but the sudden change has wreaked havoc on my sinuses/allergies. Not feeling too great over here...stuffy head, sneezing, etc. We have family coming in tonight which is great, but I am not up for playing hostess. I do hope to have more updates going by the end of this weekend-that is some exciting news-so check back and see what I have for your viewing pleasure! "G"

FINALLY! My "stalled" website is running again! Very thankful to my new webmaster, Andy, for that. We still have a few more pages to go, so check back from time to time to see the new stuff! Now, will someone tell me how to exercise a bit of self-control during the holidays?? Gee whiz! That's what I get for coming off of a 4 month diet for Nationals and having the holidays land right afterwards...not a good thing for a girl that likes to eat! Well, as Jan 1st approaches, I will get things back on track. I am already back in the gym training like crazy with pathetic attempts at cardio so that is good. The diet is the killer. Too much temptation all around me right now. Thanks to everyone for checking out my site and all the TERRIFIC emails I get daily with your support--it means more to me than you know. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
